Demyelination

Abscess, toxoplasmosis, TB, neurocysticercosis

In this case, patient had multiple nodular ring enhancing lesions.

  • Multiple ring enhancing lesions: consider infective causes
  • Classical abscess ring is thin and hairy. Consider atypical infection if the ring is “weird”.
  • Patient has cerebral TB.
  • Due to multiple ring enhancing lesions, patient is in high risk of increased ICP and brain herniation. LP SHOULD NOT BE DONE now.

Note: cerebral TB is not transmitted from person-person UNLESS the patient has pulmonary TB.
