Pseudo Jones vs Jones vs Stress Fracture?

A great illustration from Radiopaedia.org

Pseudo-jones fracture

  • Proximal tuberosity avulsion fracture
  • Does not extend to inter-metatarsal joint between fourth and fifth metacarpals

Jones fracture

  • Transverse fracture at metadiaphyseal-diaphyseal junction extending into the inter-metatarsal joint
  • Could be unstable so early surgical consultation is needed
