Pseudo-jones fracture
- Proximal tuberosity avulsion fracture
- Does not extend to inter-metatarsal joint between fourth and fifth metacarpals
Jones fracture
- Transverse fracture at metadiaphyseal-diaphyseal junction extending into the inter-metatarsal joint
- Could be unstable so early surgical consultation is needed

Stress fracture
- Occurs slightly distal to Jones fracture, within 1.5cm of metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction
- Thickened cortex due to periostel reaction.
